Principal's Bio

Educational Background and Experiences

Mrs. Karolyn Mason currently serves as the Principal of Kindle Elementary School in the Pitman School District. Mrs. Mason was appointed this position in June of 2017.

Mrs. Mason graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Salisbury University in May of 2001. Upon graduating, she had the opportunity to teach abroad in New Zealand in order to study and practice their guiding reading initiatives. After returning to the states, Mrs. Mason taught in the classroom for 14 years, as both a general education teacher as well as a reading specialist. She held many leadership roles in Baltimore County and Harford County, Maryland, and was accepted in the Teacher Effectiveness Academy and the Baltimore Aspiring Leader’s Program.  Within her schools she served as the School Improvement Facilitator, Grade Level Chair, Towson University Mentor Teacher, and taught demonstration lessons for new hires. Mrs. Mason earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development and Instructional Leadership from Towson University in 2012, where she focused her studies on curriculum and instruction and professional development. In addition, she earned her Administrator I Certificate in Maryland, as well as her New Jersey Principal’s Certificate.

Mrs. Mason currently resides in East Greenwich and lives with her husband and their two children, Jake and Emma.
